Transformed for international growth
SETCCE, a leader in electronic signatures and documents, had a product ready for the international stage. BetrSign was a powerful solution, but as the company grew, its foundation faced the common challenges of a maturing startup: an increasingly complex codebase written by multiple teams and an organizational workflow that struggled to keep pace. The product was primed for global expansion, but its infrastructure wasn't.
Our mission was to partner with SETCCE and empower them to build the next generation of BetrSign. We focused on two key components of the product:
- The BetrSign Web Application: A sophisticated suite of cloud services for managing the entire lifecycle of a digital transaction—from electronic identity and user authentication to e-signature workflows and secure document storage.
- The BetrSign Mobile Application: A critical component enabling secure logins and document signing. The app facilitates the use of qualified digital certificates from an eID card, leveraging contactless NFC reading on smartphones for secure and convenient authentication.

Our collaboration kicked off with the clear need to simplify and modernize the existing solution through a rewrite and redesign to make it more maintainable and adaptable.

NEW SECURITY MEASURES
We started with implementing new security measures on iOS (using Apple app attest service) that verified the integrity of the installed application and provided a more secure way of communication with the backend.
